Welcome to Flight Instructor Ground School!

 

This course focuses on the aeronautical knowledge you need to serve as an FAA-certified flight instructor.

 

The course lectures draw on materials I have personally used to train flight students for decades, including critical topics such as:

CFI RESPONSIBILITIES

ENDORSEMENTS

Each of the eleven topics includes a series of video lectures and detailed animations that clearly illustrate key concepts. All of the course material is available online once you’re enrolled on the FlightInsight course page.

 

After many of the video lectures, you have the opportunity to answer a series of practice questions modeled on the actual FAA test. You can take practice tests at any time as a dress rehearsal for the real thing, modelled as follows:

Fundamentals of Instructing (FOI): 50 Questions - 90 Minutes

Flight Instructor - Airplane (FIA): 100 Questions - 150 Minutes

 

After successfully completing this course you will be able to:

​

• Apply your knowledge toward providing safe, efficient flight instruction;

• Take the FOI and FIA Knowledge tests administered by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for pilot certification.

 

Completion of this course entitles you to an endorsement to take both the FOI and FIA tests.
